Welcome back to a brand new post! Today I'm going to be talking, more like writing, about reading What more could you want?
George Martin once said, "A reader lives a thousand lives before he dies. The man who never reads lives only one." I plan to focus on this quote and give some reasons why it is important to read.
Reason #1: The Out of Body Experience
Most book worms out there can agree that when they read they experience a sort of out of body experience. This comes from being so enveloped into the world before you it's like you've entered it and became a side character. Or sometimes the main character! This is such a wonderful feeling because you experience the emotions and scenery. Which is how you live more than one life according to the quote ;)
Reason #2: The Distraction
This reason is playing on number one a little. Reading a good book can serve as a distraction and escape from the world around you. It allows you to leave your problems and focus on something new. It lessens the stress and increases the imagination. There is never a bad time to read in my opinion. I love to read when I'm sad or stressed and just wanna break from the world and even when I'm the happiest person.
Reason #3: Education
This is one of the coolest things that comes along with reading. When you read your brain becomes healthier and smarter. It is basically fuel for your brain. It takes in all the words and puts a picture together in your mind. And all those little words become a part of your vocabulary list without you even realizing it.
Reason #4: Entertainment
Books are basically movies that haven't been filmed. It takes you on all kinds of adventures, whether it's action, horror, romance, fantasy, sci-fi, or even non-fiction ones. It's a movie in your head and one you get for a cheaper price than movie tickets!
Reason #5: Adventure
If you're anything like Belle from Beauty and the Beast then it is safe to say that you crave adventure in the great wide somewhere. Well reading can give you that adventure until you are able to physically go. Books can take you anywhere you please and anywhere you imagine. This is the most satisfying part of reading for me. I'm able to travel the world in the comfort of my home until I can afford it.
I know there are more reasons to read but these are my top five reasons why I read and why you should too!
I would love to know what y'all are reading so leave a comment and let me know. I'm always looking for more recommendations.
